Infrastructure adaption (Task 2.2)

Various infrastructure adaptations are required to make hydropower plants fit for the challenges of the future energy system. This concerns technical elements such as improved intake and outlet designs or reduced friction in water tunnels, improved procedures for sediment flushing, and robust design methodologies for the critical elements of hydropower projects. This task will also address critical issues such as impulse waves caused by landslides in artificial alpine reservoirs.
