Due to digitization and transparency in science, data management is becoming increasingly important. In October 2017, the SNSF established a new guideline that makes a data management plan mandatory when submitting a request for funding. The SNSF wants to ensure that data is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR principle) for everyone.
The goal of this workshop is to learn more about the relevance, advantage and implementation of data management, the open research data policies and claims of different facilities as SNSF or swisstopo, and the long-term perspective for data preservation.
During the morning session, the workshop will provide a lecture program with several keynote talks. In the afternoon, the participants will deepen selected themes based on hands-on exercises and discussions led by an expert.
The participation at this workshop gives you the chance to receive useful inputs for your own data management implementation, discuss about your questions with an expert, network and exchange with other scientists.
Registration is mandatory. The number of participants is limited to 30. The entrance is free.
