Biographical Summary
Dr. Andres Müller (research associate) studied mechanical engineering in Lausanne and Stockholm and obtained his MSc degree in 2008 from EPFL. After 2 years as a development and test engineer at ABB Switzerland Ltd, he started investigating the stability of Francis turbines at off-design operating conditions at the EPFL Laboratory for Hydraulic Machines and obtained his PhD in 2014.
SCCER-SoE Responsibilities
He is working within the WP3.2 in the framework of the HYPERBOLE research project, granted by the European Commission (ERC/FP7-ENERGY-2013-1-Grant 608532). The project aims to improve the prediction of pressure fluctuations for the full-scale turbine at off-design operating conditions. Andres Müller is experimentally investigating the stability of Francis turbines at off-design operating conditions.
