Pierre Razurel is born in Geneva in September 1991. After he obtained his scientific baccalauréat in France, he pursued studies at the EPFL in Environmental Engineering and obtained his master - specialization engineering of water, soil and ecosystems - in July 2014. His master thesis, supervised by Prof. Paolo Perona, consisted in the ecological and economic optimization of flow diversion with application to traditional hydropower plants. The results show interesting perspectives concerning the hydropower management in Switzerland that would lead to a publication.
Currently employed as a research assistant in the laboratory AHEAD (Applied HydroEconomics and Alpine environment Dynamics) at EPFL, he participates to the project Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research Supply of Electricity (SCCER-SoE) concerning the environmental impacts of future hydropower plants.
