I am a phd student in ETH Zurich under the guidance of Prof. Patrick Jenny. I have done my bachelors in chemical engineering from IIT Guwahati and masters in Computational Science and Engineering from ETH Zurich. My specialization in masters programme was fluid dynamics. I have worked in a number of projects related to the development of numerical methods for flow. My semester project was about developing a multiscale finite volume method for flow problem in reservoirs with special dual cells (SPE-142205). My master thesis was about developing a mixing model in the scenario of inhomogeneous turbulent flow (http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.3684994). I have experience with grid based and particle based methods and high performance computing techniques.
During my Phd, I am now working on numerics of geomechanics problem coupled with fluid flow. My project goal is to develop H-T-M coupled numerical solver for fractured reservoir with applications in EGS. One of the key task is to develop robust and convergent numerical algorithm to solve coupled flow-mechanics problem which can model injection induced seismicity and also can estimate the microseismic effects on the fracture reservoir creation. I am developing numerical methods in the framework of hierarchical fracture representation (HFR) which will provide benefits in terms of computational efficiency for simulating EGS coupled fluid and solid flow for complex fracture networks.
