Dr. Ebrahim Jahanbakhsh was born on September 21, 1982. From 2000 to 2006, he finished his bachelor and master studies in Naval Architecture and Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. Then, he worked as research assistant at Marine Engineering Laboratory in Sharif university from 2006 to 2010. He recived his PhD from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne in 2014. He is now working at Laboratory for Hydraulic Machines at EPFL. It is more than 10 years that he is active in developing numerical methods for mesh-based and mesh-less techniques in order to solve engineering problems.
He is working within the WP3.2 in the framework if the GPU-SPHEROS CTI project number 17568.1. This project aims at upgrading SPHEROS software which has been developed to simulate silt-laden flows in hydraulic machines. SPHEROS will be enhanced with accurate physical models for erosion and new advanced high performance computing techniques to provide a tool fitting the industrial needs to predict and mitigate erosion of hydro generating units. Ebrahim Jahanbakhsh will be in charge of coordinating the software development team.
