S. Gabathuler graduated in 2013 the Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Power and Control specialisation, at University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland, HES-SO Valais//Wallis in Sion”. Since October 2013, she is scientific assistant in the hydraulic energy research team of Prof. Münch at the HES –SO Valais // Wallis. She is working on experimental projects in hydraulic turbomachinery. Her main research interests are the evaluation of the performance of various technologies of turbines and pumps, the control and the regulation, as well as the link to the electrical grid (connection, injection, et al.).
In the framework of the SCCER-SoE research project, Shadya Gabathuler is working in the WP3 Innovative technologies on the experimental development and the investigation of electrical driving systems of new technologies for small-hydro applications destined to energy production. She is actively involved in the Task 3.2 to develop the electrical part and the regulation of the recently built universal hydraulic test rig devoted to measure the hydraulic performance of small-hydro turbomachines. Within the development projects of a new counter-rotating micro-hydro turbine destined to recover energy lost in release valves of drink water systems and respectively of a new iso-kinetic turbine for rivers, she is mainly responsible with the set-up of the electrical driving systems as well as with the connection of the systems to the electrical grid.
